Top Tier Gas
I have read several people mention using top tier gasoline to keep their Corvettes in top running condition. Currently I fill up at Shell Gas Station with premium gasonline (93 Octane). We also have BP and Citgo in our area. Am I making a good choice with this brand or should I switch brands?

I never had any problems with Shell gas. It also has an additive similar to Techron IIRC.

Citgo is a Venuzuelan company that just recently seized and nationalized all privately own oilfiled...
I don't support that activity.
The two time I used BP's 93 octane, I got a check engine light in my Vette. I won't use it again unless it is the ONLY station available.
Shell is a top tier gasoline.... and that is what I use whenever it is available ((95+% of the time)

If you have been running EXXON a while with little problems (none at all), you should be okay.

He also made the threat to take over all the banks and nationalize them.
I have been using Shell in my 01 and have not had any problems. I have been getting 19 mpg in town.

Gee, now I'm concerned! My local station is BP, been using with no problems. Also wonder why Mobil isn't on list? But are they owned by someone else?

The list is comprised of companies that agreed to a standard dictated by four major car manufacturers.
Obviously, Mobil didn't see fit to include enough additives to make the list.
Top Tier gas is merely gas with extra additives to keep your engine clean(er).

BP is British Petroleum. Venezuela or UK? Tough call
