So then where do they mount in bolt-in roll bars?

The problem is, you need the upper harness mount (or turn) to be level with (or close to it) or slightly above where it enters the seat back. If you bolted them to the inside rear deck, there'd be too much of a downward angle -- not safe. I have a HardBar carbon fiber bar. You'll need a HardBar bar or Brey-Krause bar...

Good point I never thought of that. You have a carbon fiber harness bar? I didn't think carbon fiber was strong enough for that purpose.

Here's a good FAQ on the topic:

http://www.schroth.com/installation-...geometries.htm

If I recall, it's spun carbon fiber (not laid) tubing. It's stronger, and lighter, AND more expensive than the regular HB bar which is aluminum (not steel) and weighs 6 lbs... BK's is SS and weighs 18 lbs...

So If I install a harness bar is it safe to use my stock sport seats and run the shoulder straps throught the center opening?

TOTALLY! In fact, it would be UNSAFE on a regular C5 seat.

Just talked to Gary about another product (newly designed & soon-to-be-released lap belt bars). I was right -- the carbon fiber harness bar is "spun" for lack of a better term. I've seen a video of the process for other carbon fiber tubing (not his specifically) and it's pretty frikking cool! Basically, it's the same way they make Trident missile casings. And actually Gary's CF bar doesn't cost THAT much more than his aluminum one (which is very reasonably priced), he just has them in more limited quanities. I'll post a pic this weekend. It's a thing of BEAUTY!! And it's WAY stronger than anything else out there.
