Different smell???
O.K. This one will be easy, I hope. While at the dragstip in Bowling Green week before last, I noticed a funny smell in the cockpit while traipsing down the quarter mile. 
Top was up...and, no..it was not something in my pants that smelled! 
This weekend, I smelled it again while motoring down the interstate in the passing lane. (Top was down and I could still smell it?)
In both cases, I happened to be going a tad over the typical posted interstate speed limit. No comment beyond that...Miranda!
It is not a rubber smell. I wondered if the A4 clutch was getting hot and smelling. But, the clutch is behind the driver...right? It does not smell like oil burning? Does not appear to be using oil. (But, 75k on clock.)
Perhaps it is merely exhaust...but, why is it getting into the cockpit? Could there be a leak in manifold? How will I find out before I die of carbon monoxide?

Hard to diagnose without actually smelling it. However, if you think it is CO2, then get this:

I used to have it in my 72 Nova with cherry bombs. It turned black within a mile. Good tester to have and it's cheap!.
