Ok the insurance company decided that i cant have a vette so i think im gonna have to sell. If you could buy any car in the 18k- 27k price range (besides a corvette) what would it be? I was thinking about a 03-04 cobra anyone have any expierance with those or any other ideas? Looking for a performance car.
Why is it their say if u can have a vette? Time to find another insurance company if they don't want the business.
Because im 19 and they must have just found out because ive had it for 3 months then out of the blue they call me and say we have to drop you due to driver inexpieriance. And ive gone though 3 insurance brokers that scour the country for insurance and they all came up with just the one i had no others would do it. o and ive never got a ticket or been in an accident in my life.
I'd be really suprised if it was a different story for the Cobra. My Vette is quite a bit cheaper to insure than the 03 Cobra I was thinking about. Mustangs in general have higher premiums for younger drivers because they are relatively fast and easier to afford.
Good luck, I'd go with the advice above and check into other companies.

Is the vette your primary vehicle? Try getting a beater for the primary and list the vette as a weekend car.

Driver inexperience? What a bunch of BS#$%. Any car can be made to be "powerful". Ask them if you buy a different daily driver and keep just liability on it if it would make a difference. If yes, buy a cheap POS and use it for your DD. Keep the vette for nicer days.

Emm... As others have stated you will be worse off with the cobra in terms of insurance.
I just sold my 01 Cobra 2 weeks ago because it was finally time for a vette. when i was pricing insurrance before i bought my 00 coupe, i got a quote for an 02z and it was already 7 bucks a month cheaper then the cobra. oh, and im only 22. age shoudnt matter that much. in my case it never has, i had the ponycar at 20
just one thing to think about... the cobra will suck after going from a vette. it was fast, fun, and got looks.. but in the end it was still and will always be a late model mustang

the o3-o4 cobra is a whole different beast than your 01 theyre really fast. i would own a cobra and a vett if i could afford it.
i know they are much different. i drove both when shopping, but at age 20, didnt want to drop the 30k they were asking almost 3 years ago. i wouldve loved one though, even though its just a roots. ive had three stangs, and none of them compare to a vette. they can be fast, but the poor build quality of late model mustangs finally got to me
Ive drove cobras before and they are awesome. I like my vette better over all (424rwhp) but as a second choice the cobra is awesome and it takes mods probably better than any other car under 50k. i just hope insurance lets me have it. Im going to look around all day tomarro for the vette and ask about the cobra.
