Do I sell it?
Second, if he can buy another vette just like yours or newer with same money, why is he pushing you so much? Sounds fishy.
Or, like already mentioned, consider other consequences. What if his motor cooks in a week? How would that imact your professional relationship? What if he now implies "you owe him" since he "overpaid" for the car?
Too many red flags for me. Greed can blind you. I'd avoid.

Perhaps you could upgrade with the extra monies or pay some bills and still get a clean and perhaps already modded Vette to replace yours!
That will be a hard decision but if I were offered I might just do it and do an upgrade myself!
Thanks,matt

Maurizio,
I've thought about it and looked at it from all sides but cannot bring myself to depart with this car. I much prefer this body style to the newer version and I have all the options that I wanted on it.

His reply:
I understand, though I regret.
I’ll evaluate the option to buy a new one (first I should ask a salary increase to my boss!).
Thank you and enjoy your drive.

As far as the ethics were involved, there was no problem. All the high ups in both companies knew about it and were laughing about his offer.
So I'll be keeping the car it took me 25 years to get.
