Premium should be used. There have been many discussions on what octane people use and arguments as to why less than premium is acceptable. Personally, I say if you can't afford the gas, you can't afford the car. So a search and you'll find plenty of threads about this.
Don't get me wrong.... I want what is best for my new car. I just didn't find the threads which talked about octane. 92 or 93 it is then. Sometimes you assume that a car must have hi octane fuel but it isn't always the case. Thanks for clearing that up.

It was never an issue of being able to afford the gas but rather if it was necessary. Seems like a small price to pay to avoid possible engine problems (gunk) down the road.
It is also advantageous to add a bottle of Techron every few tanks. It'll help keep you injectors clean and may prevent problems with your fuel sending unit.
