Another noob checks in....
I've been toying with the idea for a couple years now and looked at literally thousands of Vettes online. I also subscribed to Corvette Magazine in an attempt to learn as much about them as I could. I discovered Corvette Forum in January and couldn't believe the wealth of knowlege on this site. I learned more about Vettes in 1 night on CF than in two years of reading magazines.
Anyway, I got in the habit of checking the For Sale/Wanted section daily, along with several other sites such as cars.com, vehix.com and autohunter. One day last month I logged on and discovered an 04 C/E coupe about 40 minutes away from me in Mont Vernon NH. The asking price was about 8K under Kelly BB and 2K under dearler trade in! I started typing as fast as I could and quickly had made arrangements to view the car the next day. It was a true garage queen with only 14800 on the clock. You could do open heart surgery on the engine it was so clean! I knew as soon as I drove it that I was finally going to be a Corvette owner (even though I promised myself I wouldn't buy the first car I looked at). The seller (a forum member) was a fantastick guy who bent over backwards to make the transaction as easy as possible. I couldn't have asked for a better buying experience and have stayed in touch with him cause he was such a cool dude.
The car mostly sat in my garage for the entire month of April because I was either working or it was rainy and miserable here in MA. The weather has finally broken the past couple weeks and I'm finally getting to spend some time behind the wheel. I've quickly learned that it's an entirely different animal than all the F-bodies I've owned. I can't believe how much power is on tap. The Z06s must be insane!
I'm captain **** when it comes to my rides, so this baby won't be on the road if there's a cloud in NY. I know it's a car and it's made to be driven, but this represents something I've been wanting my whole life and a bit of a financial stretch as well, besides, it looks so awesome now that I've got a couple coats of Zaino (another CF discovery) on it.
Sorry for the long winded post, but I'm so stoked about my car and I've learned so much thanks to you guys so I wanted to say hello. My photography skills leave a lot to desire, but here's a couple shots I took last week:

: Welcome!
Once had a '95 Formula 6speed myself. Fun car 'til the drunk driver found me.
Oh well, don't be afraid to shout out if any of us here can help.

You will totally enjoy the new ride and the ride of a true sports car!
