I need to remove the plastic trim that goes from the front of the windshield up the roof down to the door handle area. How hard is it to remove and replace?? It looks like it 2 peices. I plan to replace both sides with fresh ne ones. Any help would be great. Tks guys
I just replaced both of mine.
First one was a real PITA. It took longer to clean off all the old adhesive than it did to replace the parts.
I strongly suggest you buy the metal track that holds the rubber weatherstripping. As it is hard to remove that piece without bending it. Mine was covered with adhesive and very difficult to remove.
I also purchased some black seam sealer to use when installing the parts. It's waterproof and remains flexible for life. The item was very difficult to locate but, is recommended by GM for body sealing.
PM me if you have any specific questions. The manual lays out a very detailed plan for where and how much sealer to place in certain areas on the two separate parts. I would follow this very closely to avoid any leaks.
