Default Tuning + comp mode ????

Is it possible to tune the car to always be in comp mode? Every time i drive my vette i put it in comp mode before leaving the house. I am getting a 150rwhp shot and a tune next week. Just wondering if the tuner can tune the car to always be in comp mode.

Maybe, sort of.

I haven't played with this yet in EFI-Live, but in it, you can alter the Traction Control EFFECT settings, ie: the timing retard application...so it seems possible to make Traction Control basically do nothing.

Again, this is something I haven't tried yet, but will try playing with to see if it works. Since it does not effect Active Handling, only TC, it should be "functionally equivalent" to comp mode. The only downside I could think of, is while spinning the tires you would still see the "Traction system active" message on the DIC, even though the PCM is doing nothing to spoil the fun.

If anyone has tried what I'm thinking of, and knows for sure, I'd like to know.

Otherwise, there is a module sold, called the Laptrax, that you can have put your car in comp mode at each startup.

Laptrax is an electronic box that keeps your system in competition mode or any other mode without reseting it's self.

Here is a short cut to the company Laptrax

so to keep your mode in competition lets you spin your tires all the time? Is the active handling still in affect, if not , that could be dangerous? So is it good to keep in comp mode? Thanks

It doesn't effect the active handling, unless you turn everything to OFF

I wish I could change the way that button works. I think it should have been designed to go into competitive mode immediately by pushing the button, then you have to hold it for like 1-2 seconds before it would turn off active handling. I don't understand why its designed to be easy to turn off everything but harder to turn off just one feature in stock mode. plus I have an early C5 so I have to be stopped in order to go into comp mode. is there any way to fix that?

Chip its a very neat gadget that most of us racers are using for a long time. It works like a charm.

You know, you should start carrying it so there is no Vette tax on it

The best price I have seen is over corvettegarage.com

Now that would be awesome... any tech guru's who would like to try and make a mod for it

Also I don't like how it displays comp mode and blocks out my DIC info

Hit the reset button, you still have the DIC, without that dam message. Use it for tire pressure with racing.
