My C4 is relatively new (2004) and I am getting many seat cracks.
What is the best remedy for this, it appears to be a common problem.
Can the cracking be stabilized, or are they doomed to break through?
Thanks,
I was putting together a list of car care products I wanted to get yesterday and when I happened to go outside to look at the inside of the car, I realized my seats were cracking badly too!
And my car is a 2000, but it only has 8K on it and the seats are ALREADY cracking...
A good leather conditioner specifically made for car leather is you best bet. I use Meguires leather conditioner every two weeks and Blu Coral leather conditioner spray EVERY other day. Best time to use it is when the interior is hot from being in the sun all day, but NOT in direct sunlight. The heat helps open up the pores of the leather to accept the conditioner.
I too use Meguirs Rich Leather Conditioner on a weekly basis. My 97 was badly cracked but with a little TLC and some conditioner, it doesn't look quite so bad now.
Just get a leather treatment at the auto store and continue to treat them and it'll prolong any more damage from happening and keep them moist and plyable.
I condition mine regularly. I tried the cream for starters but it gets into the pinholes on the sport seats. I tend to use a spray on the perforated panels and the cream on the solid panels. I still have the "creases" but the leather is staying reasonably pliable (I couldn't say soft).
My main problem is a seam that's starting to pull apart.
My seats are cracked so bad on the drivers they are broken through. Anyone know if you can buy individual seat panels or do you have to buy it as a set?

Keeping a good leather conditioner on the seats helps a lot. I use Eagle 1 Leather Conditioner on mine and so far it has helped keep the cracks from appearing.
