I believe you will pass the smog test but fail the visual. I am thinking about relocating to California as well. You can always find some backwood shop that doesn't know the difference that will pass you

I'm not too sure, you guys in Va. would know better than us, but most of the "Backwood shops that don't know the difference", have been closed down by the California Air Resource Board.

Sometimes it is hard to find a shop that will look the other way, no matter how much you bribe them with.

I would suggest calling some of the larger Corvette shops to find a smog shop. Even "backwoods" smog control stations know the difference between cast iron and SS or steel headers. There are some shorty headers that are approved for good ole Kali.

While I lived in Ca. I gad a really good friend who had a smog shop and he would not pass the car illegally. Fine at that time was $25,000 and loss of license to ever do smog work again.

Visual will not pass "IF" you get someone who knows what to look for!

As far as the sniffer absoloutly no problem!

Ask around on the forum for one's in your area and whom they are using and perhaps you'll pass the visual too!

The performance is absoloutly awesome from the swap out of stockers for LT's!

Thanks,matt

I have always heard that headers will pass the emissions but will not pass the visual. My question is......Why are they illegal in California if they don't emit more polutants?!! California sucks sometimes!

So are there any longtube headers that will pass smog in California for a 2000?

I hate California sometimes. I wish they would just tighten the dyno testing to do a bunch of RPMs and not pay attention to what I have under MY hood!

Nevermind! Jeez this state sucks... between housing costs, movie star governers, and environmentalist movements protecting gnats who can get anything done!
