Default C5 or CTSV

Has anyone raced a stock Cadillac CTSV with their stock C5 and won??
My buddy thinks his CTSV is so fast. Has anyone raced and beaten a CTSV?

This is a drivers race unless you got some mods or you got a Z.

What did he driver before he owned the CTSV?

I remember going from a stock 4 bangin' import to my Z28, thinking I had the fastest car on the street, little did I know that I didn't and got schooled several times before I fathomed this.

If both are stock it should be a drivers race with the edge towards the Vette. The CTS-V weighs over 3800lb.

Caddy has more weight, but it has more HP than a stock C5 and 3:73 gears.

It will come down to the driver. If he can drive you may get surprised. I hope not, go out and practice and spank his butt

A stock Cadillac CTS-V should be able to pull a 13.4 second give or take!

If it's stock it should be close and or driver error will come into play!

If your friend does not know how to race then - ummmmm! you know! or vise versa!

Thanks,Matt

Default C5 Numbers with a CTS-V?

CTS-V => 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, govenor limited top speed of 163 MPH. Pretty close to a non Z06 C5 performace envelope, but car is heavier and has a higher center of gravity. My guess, all things being equal, in a drag race CTS-V gets off the line quicker with the 3:73 gearing, but C5 catches it at the end. On a road course, no contest, C5 will out handle the CTS-V. Just my HO. Isn't it nice though that it's compared to a Corvette and we drive the standard by whch other cars are judged. And the other thing, it's not a Corvette.

It is great that everyone compares their cars to ours. I say, throw a nice little cam in teh vette, tune it and then there will be NO question.

I've heard that the CTS-V has a major problem with wheel hop at launch so you should have an advantage off the line.

I'm going to go with the C5, but I think it would be close. I know two guys who have CTS-V's with Maggie's, headers and exhaust, and their cars are very quick.

Could be a very close race. The CTS-V is a quick car.
