I was wondering what would be a more reliable way to make roughly 450-500whp. Either supercharger, or heads/cams bolt ons car? That and what would be more usable hp? Since Im assuming the sc wouldnt make as much tq as head/cams would, I would think it would make it a little less touchy and have less spinning problems?

You wont make 500 "reliable" hp with the blower/turbo. Adding the FI will turn out to just be the starting point.
I agree with this statement about the N/A 402 and respectfully disagree about the f/i as the ECS and A&A cent. supercharger kits have been perfected to a science.
My stock LS6 motor in my Z makes well over 500 rwhp with my ECS D1SC kit and has been bone stock reliable with 0 issues for over 8000 miles. My supercharger belt shows no wear. Its all in the install and tune and of course and must get an ECS of A&A kit if going with a cent. supercharger. N/A is great also and you have to decide what you prefer and if you want to go N/A a nicely professionaly built 402 with Trick FLow 225 heads will haul azz as will the supercharger set-up suggested above that I have been running for almost 2 years now without any problems whatsoever (except a lack of traction)!
Will be interested in the responses on this one. I am really torn between staying stock or doing a "little" something to my car to make it a little more exciting to drive. I am wanting low maintenance and high reliability so the car does not become a problem child. Head and cam maintains weight at stock level but requires opening up the engine. Supercharger is basically a bolt on but adds weight to the nose of the car. Some have indicated that a SC may add stress to the front bearings as well. This forum is fantastic for getting information and real life experience on these kind of issues that can save a person not only money but bad experiences.

Nearly 30,000 daily abuse miles with Andy's kit. The car has almost 80,000 on it. 578RWHP (I have headers and it's a Z) and never a single problem with the drive line, blower, ect. The car gets 28 MPG at 78 MPH and idles completely stock (except for the turbine like whine). The drivability is awesome! I haven't even replaced the belt yet!

Decide now what you will use the car for. If you plan to road race it or maybe even auto-x, I would stay away from supercharging and certainly NOS. For the road course, stock is what's most reliable by far so keep that in mind; reliablity is your friend on track.

That's just my .02.

The Proof is in the pudding and the above just about sums it up about the reliability of ECS and A&A cent. supercharger kits, that are properly tuned and installed!
