I bought my 1969 Camaro Rally Sport when I was 18 years old and I've held onto it all these years. I bought it because I fell in love with its looks. I had no idea it would turn into such a desirable car for collectors so many years later.

I bought my Corvette for about the same reason.. who knows.. it may turn out to be considered something special 20 years from now like my Camaro.
I just hope I'm around to see that happen!

Holy thread revival. It's really interesting to read past post and their predictions. The market is not consistent here in CA. Prices vary by several thousands of dollars but for my 2002, I'd say I can get 12-15K

Yeah I was doing a search to find a garage interior image which I posted yrs ago and this one came up on the last page (#12). Found it interesting enough to bring it back to life. Many yrs ago that would have been a CF violation of rules. Glad it's not. History can bite you in the butt.

So I'm reviewing the latest C5 MYZ06 FS here on CF and the covid asking price is 35K for his '03. Sold my '03 TRZ for 27K little more than a decade ago and it was tops in its class. All documented here of CF. Have always liked the MY color plus C7 & 8 has been taken off the table. Hard to believe 20 yrs have gone by since the 03/04 was brand new. Fun stuff.

mine back in 2007 took 90 posts to sell in the middle of winter when I was a rookie posting pics:

The old rule was you could not revive or restore an old thread. How old I do not recall but this thread would have qualified beyond doubt.

I couldn't imagine owning a Vette and not driving it every day!

My plan is to just keep driving the wheels off this car and then in 4 or 5 years I want to pick up an 05 or 06 C6, and then give the C5 to my wife to drive in nice weather. By then the C5 will probably have close to 200k on it and will be worthless as a trade in, so we might as well hang onto it and continue to enjoy it!
It's really interesting to see what I wrote back in 2007, a lot has changed since then! First of all, I never gave the C5 to my wife, in fact I divorced her in 2010 I kept my C5 until 2013 and then did actually get a C6 (a LeMans Blue 2005 actually) I kept that C6 until December 2017 when I picked up my new 2018 Torch Red Stingray. I wish there could have been a way to keep my C5 as well, I still miss that car, it was great!

I always say that with anything, something is worth what someone is willing to pay. If you like something, pay what you are willing to, within reason.

I will likely negotiate one real soon and put this to the test.

Yes, they made a lot of them... but I'm 50 and will give you my observation.

As long as people mod them, don't keep them up.. they drop like flies. A nice base model where mostly everything works? Yeah, someone is gonna drop some coin in the future.

That being said, do not buy as an investment.
