I don't see anything like that on mine, but I have a thought: on some paints, when they have been thru spray no touch car washes, that clearcoat sealant and spray wax makes it hard to do a hand wax job sometimes, its like there is a coating of "something" that is hard to get the wax to look right on. Same thing as if you wax a car thats been detailed with a quick auto shop "glaze". they look great, but try and put wax over it.
Got a friend that sells Chevrolets at a local dealer. he told me that this is common. Besides a TR Z06 garage queen, my daily driver is a Chevy Colorado 4x4 crew that's birch silver (looks kinda silver/tan) and it has exactly what you are talking about. It was new when I got it, so it is all factory paint. Only noticable in the direct sunlight though. But hey...at least it's from the good old US of A!
Just because you've owned your car since new, and never had it repainted, doesn't mean that it hasn't been.
They do touch-up resprays at the factory, and the dealerships do it too to clean up anything that happens in transport.
We got a car one time to fix that the roof hit an overpass on the transporter on the way to the dealer. Always wondered if they told the proud new owner.....
