brake hardware
I'm replacing pads and rotors on my 00 vert. I understand why I have to replace the bolts, but why should I replace the washers? Did anyone replace the washers on there vette?

Why are you replacing the bolts? If you are talking about the caliper mount bracket bolts, once you take them off, clean them with a wire brush to remove the loctite and then put another bead of loctite and re-install.
when I replaced my rotors, I had a heck of a time loosening the bolts, so I got my small propane torch, heated up the bolt head a little and the bolts loosened right up.

Loctite works well for retaining hardware but comes off in a cinch with a little heat.
- Remove the bolts
- Clean throughly with a cleaner and wire wheel
- Apply new Loctite and reassemble
