There has seldom been a day during the past 39 years that I haven't thought about my buddies who were killed in Vietnam. The following is a remembrance that I left for one of them that I posted on The Virtual Wall. They will never be forgotten.

It's hard to believe that you were killed 33 years ago yesterday. Where has the time gone? I never dreamed that a young black man from St. Louis would have such an impact on my life. I can still picture your face and that big smile as if you were sitting in front of me this very moment. There is hardly a day that goes by that I don't think of you, Sgt. Hitchcock and Cpl. Cunningham. In fact, I have the rubbings of your names from The Wall framed and displayed in my office at work. I still get goose bumps whenever I hear "My Girl" by the Temptations. God, how you loved that song. I just wanted you to know that you and all of the others who paid the ultimate price will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend. Semper Fi

Memorial Day is set aside to honor those who have fallen in the service of our nation.
And please keep the young men and women in uniform in your thoughts this Memorial Day too. They are serving and sacrificing for us. They deserve all of our support and our prayers. Thanks guys. God bless you.

To all my buddies who are fighting now and to all in the past who have given for our freedom, which we tend to take for granted. I am a veteran and I will never forget the selfless sacrifice that has been made so we can enjoy our lives the way we want today. Enjoy your freedom everyone, there is a cost that we should never forget.
