Tonight I stopped to get some gas and my older brother's friend saw me and was in complete awe of my car. He loved it and kept complimenting me on it and saying how lucky I was to own one. He was going crazy just to sit in it and letting him start it up. Afterwards while I was driving home I just looked around my interior...saw "z06" on the gauges...."Corvette" on the dash....the flags on my steering wheel.....and just thought about how lucky I really am. I'm in my very early 20's and work my *** off, but never could I have imagined I would own my dream car (c5z). At the risk of sounding a little feminine (haha) I actually was on the verge of tearing up. Some people work and work and still don't get the luxuries they want because of miscellaneous reasons. It makes you realize that sometimes life gives you a good bounce in your direction. Its just crazy that something as menial an "unobtainable" car, can be obtained with some hard work, and how everyday you have to be grateful for what you have.
Thanks for listening, just what was on my mind tonight.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I was 36 years old when I got my vette. I fell in love with corvettes when I was 8yrs old. Corvettes are indeed special cars that been out many emotions. Stay humble and life will give you many good bounces. Take care!

All kidding aside, I think most of us think that way occaisionally. It doesn't seem to matter what age we get our Vette, most of us appreciate it a lot. And for some of us, our lives seem to revolve around our Vette. Don't know what I'd do without mine. Well, for one thing, I'd have a hell of a lot more money to spend on other things!
I can totally relate - as I work hours and hours on machinery in a factory for years/years. Shift work & weekends and lots of overtime.
I'm often very very lucky that I'm healthy, have a good paying job, a wonderful husband, a house, and being fiancially secure enough to buy the vette (and the other 3 vehicles we own).
You gotta work hard for your stuff - and believe me, my husband and I both do!!! It pays off eventually.... I'm nearing 40 and life couldn't be better!! (although, my body aches remind me of just how old I am - laugh)

Wise for your age hard work does pay off have a plan stick to it and yes you can have what you want in life. Allways stay humble its easy to be a jerk.
You got yours at the age I should have got mine...
Had the cash, but was too practical...
shoulda, coulda, woulda, any way I'm making up for it now... 2 in the garage and looking for #3
I look at my car and all of the neat stuff it has and think that when I was a teen in the 60's that I could only dream of having anything like it, so yes I understand what you're saying.
I always thought it was an impossible car to get, I could never afford one. We drove a C4 in about 1988 and it was wonderful, but the one I liked cost too much, so I forgot about it.
Almost 20 years later I have a C5 to replace my 84 Toyota pick-up with 293,000 miles on it.
People around here knew I would be needing a new car and they would ask me "What kind of car do you want??" I said Corvette and they laughed.
I take it places and sometimes when I come out of the store I have to stop, a distance away from the C5 and I just look at it.
Yea, I tear up too.

got mine at 45 and I still feel that way. It feels like owning a piece of American history(which it is) and most people you don't even know don't mine walking up and talking to you about the car. I still go in the garage and just stare. Have fun
I think that every time I drive the Vette. I dont think I'll ever get tired of this car. But then again, I was 48 before my dream came true.
I hear you, I am finally getting my 98 C5 Vert, and I am 50! Better late than never. Yes, the sad tale of being responsible and raising kids, putting them through college, the usual stuff.

Vinny you are a very wise man. With a healthy and positive attitude like that I predict a wonderful life ahead for you. A lot of us could take notes from you.
