This morning, I pulled up behind a Nissan 240, obviously hopped up, had a bunch of performance stickers, dumb exhaust. I thought I would have a little fun. The light changed, he gunned it and I ran with him. As I moved into the other lane to pass him, my engine slightly cut out in 1st gear as well as second gear (6spd). Like it missed a beat in both gears. Rear end was slipping a little, trac control was on. Car was still a little cold, about 163 degrees (coolant temp), just leaving the house. This is the first time this has ever done this, have anyone experienced anything like this? Do you think the traction control would cut power to prevent slippage? Only mods are a Vortec Rammer and aftermarket exhaust. I will give the Nissan credit, it was pretty quick. If it were not for the engine cutting out, I would have surely blown his doors off. We only got to 3rd gear and then the light changed and went our separate ways. He was still behind! The rest of the drive in on the highway was no problem. Any thoughts?
ib4tl means in before the lock. This forum locks threads describing street racing. We all know what its like to want to have some fun but street racing is dangerous to others on the road so it is a taboo subject here.
The moderators will lock the thread if street racing is discussed.
