I know, they are two TOTALLY different cars. But these two are the ones that I'm serious about...for whatever reasons I may have. I think the M3 is more of a daily driver, but it isn't as fast and I've heard that they're very unreliable. What are some positive things about the C5 that I should know of? How does it handle? How is the power and torque curve? Thanks to anyone that can answer my questions.
let me be Capt. Obvious for just one sec... your asking a Corvette forum...i can tell u the answer will be C5.
it funny, but my bro is looking at a 02' M3 and im searching the bmw forums, and people ask the same question there, C5 or M3, what they heck do u think they will say...
at any rate, heres a quick answer:
BMW: comfy and overall a lot better for daily driving. handles very well, prolly comparable to a C5. but they are fairly common too.
C5: rare'r then a M3, awesome track and street performance. will get you laid any day! comfy, 3 diff options for body style vs BMW's coupe or vert. its a LOT easier and cheaper to work on a vette then a bmw.
do the research online as much as u can... its your best bet.
Aj
For the past 14 years my C4 and now my C5 have always been daily drivers. Performance, reliablity, and handling - AWESOME!
Makes going to work in the morning a whole lot easier!
To be quite honest , I have a c5 and love it , but your right its not a car thats practical to drive everywhere , the I know someone with an M3 and he loves it but he put an arm and a leg to repair it , but in all honesty and this is probably not a popular piece of advice , look at the Audi S4 , My brother in law had one , and it will put you in your seat very similar to a vette , yet he drives it everyday and gets good gas mileage , and its very reliable (so far) just my two sense (fyi the V8 S4is the way to go)
BUT....
GO WITH THE C5 , AND DONT WORRY ABOUT DRIVAVBILTY , BUY ANOTHER CHEAP CAR AND RUN IT WHEN YOU DONT WANT TO RUN THE VETTE. (YOU WONT REGRET IT )
I like M3 Roadsters... but it didn't stop me from buying a vette! Now I'm looking at buying an 08, but probably will wait for the C7 in 2010 (I think).
You may not see as many M3's on the road as vettes, but there is a million 3 series on the road, and looks wise, its still a 3 series. Very nice car and quick. Believe me, not gonna get the same feeling as being behind the wheel of a vette, but i'm a vette owner and your asking on a vette forum. I'm sure you'd get a different answer from the bmw forum. Oh, im also a 3 series owner.
