any peformance gains or just an exotic tone??? would u do the mod or go with a corsa pace car??? Thanks for input... my car has got long tubes with off road x-pipe no cats.... any where to get it done in So Cal???
Personally, I'd get the bypass done. Cheaper, and I haven't heard a single complaint about it. The only problem is finding someone who knows how to weld titanium, but that shouldn't be a problem where you're from.
I've got cutouts welded in just before the mufflers (about where the tranny sits) and although it's kind of cool sound wise, I woundn't recommend it - it'll rattle out your teeth with the resonance inside the cabin. I often think it's quieter outside the car. It definitely has a neat v8 rumble, but it's almost unbearable to drive to work with the windows up. With the windows down, it's not as bad since it mixes with the wind noise.
I made some caps for them, so it's nice that you can go loud or quiet, but again, the in-cabin resonance is no joke. I've read on here that the stock Ti exhaust flows fine, so I don't believe there is a performance gain, except for the "mental" aspect of it's louder so it's faster concept.
He's talking about welding in a bypass at the muffler itself, not a cutout. I agree, cutouts will shake the fillings out of your teeth, but the bypass does NOT drone and adds some volume as well as HP.
