Default In Dash Navigation for C5

I am looking to put a In Dash Navigation in my C5, but I would rather stay away from the flip out models. I would like to stay with the clean factory look.

Has anyone done this Mod and have any good advice on which units work with the C5.

??? Anyone have Pics of this already installed in a C5 ???

I've seen pics of some installs posted here on the forum. Hopefully those that have done it will post some pics and provide details for you. I'd like to see it again also.

You're thinking of C5Kidd. He just did a bezel for me (don't have it installed yet) and its beautiful.

Do a search in the audio section for double din. You'll get a bunch of examples.

Jezz, that pic above is disturbing.

You can put the Pioneer AVIC-D3 (cost about $750) pretty easy. Do a search here and you will find some post of detailed installs.

Let me get this right. Are you guys giving up your radios and CD players for a navigation system? If the answer is yes, WHY?

Dude, it still has radio/cd/mp3/dvd/ipod, plus navigation. And the stock Bose system sucks bigtime.

Hey brother, I'm a little slow. I live in Texas.

Can you still use your factory 12 disc changer?

I guess so. And yes I know your slow...I was at the TMS couple weeks ago. What happened out there on the oval? The guy behind you was a friend of mine and he was about ready to pass you. It was all good fun, wasn't it.

Dont need the 12 disc cd changer, the pioneer plays mp3's and has a 30 gig internal hard drive. But from what I understand the cd changer isnt compatible with anything but the bose system.

You were on a freckn race track. Just kidd'n, it was a very good day at the track. My wife drove the Make A Wish kids for a few hours on the oval and outside the track. You may have seen her; she had the pewter and pink C5.

I would highly recommend going with Kenwood for head unit and nav. The Kenwood nav can be wired so you can input info while driving if you like and it is Garmin based. The nav unit is sold seperately from the head unit. In my case I choose to go with the DDX 6019 head unit and the KNA G510 Garmin based nav.
The nav is awesome addition to have but the difference in sound quality that comes along with everything by far over shadows the fun of having nav installed. This unit wired like I mentioned will also allow for you to watch movies while driving as well, but i dont encourage this for safety reasons. This is not an easy install by any means but well worth it! The bezel mod is not that difficult to do, just takes alot of time sanding. I bought a second bezel and cut it up so i wouldnt ruin my good one if i mssed up and could drive the car while doing it. With second bezel and materials used i have about 70.00 into mine, but alot of time. The are plenty of people ready to answer all kinds of your questions in the audio section of this forum. I had the help of Pentavolvo and DPG of who installed everything for me. good luck you will love the outcome.

How are we giving this up? The units have a cd player as well as a tuner to listen to the radio. Along with every option you can think of for playing music. I dont see how you would be giving up anything but a wad of cash.
