We own two Passport 8500-X50's and one Valentine1.

The V-1 is in mirror mounted in the C5.
The Passports are in our other 2 cars.

Both brands work very well. We prefer the V-1 but it is about $100 more expensive.

They both come with suction cup mounts. replacement mounts are sold for multi-vehilce use and the cups start getting stiff and losing suction capbilites with time, so need replacement ( roughly annually)

V1. Great Lakes visor mount (sadly, OOP for C5s). Invisicord. The best.

The arrows. Don't leave home without them.
Only wish they could incorporate the GPS keyed memory of false alarm locations that's in the newest Passport.

I have both the 8500, and the V1. There's not a nickle difference between the two in performance. I think the V1 gives a few more false hits than the 8500, but over all one is no beter than the other. Now with that said, the arrows on the V1 ARE a nice thing to have, and only you can decide if the arrows are worth $100.00 to you or not, but as one poster stated....detector goes off..SLOW DOWN!

I use the Escort SRX - detects radar and uses a technique called laser shifting which can prevent against laser detection in certain circumstances.

new version V1 works with the laser instant on flicks.

Also the "too late theory" is bs. if they are hitting a guy up the road 1/4 mile with radar you can get that as a bleed over and slow down hard.

Why a radar at all? Because you are in a vett ya momo. WHo ever asked that just hit yourself. If you get radar at 70 in a 55 with the family Mini van they might pull you over, check out your plates etc and if you are clean get a warning.

WHen you are in a modified supercharged twin turbo vette with a custom badage on the side that says you have "700+ HP" um Im betting you are getting the ticket. Thats why you get so many radar discussions on here.

Sheesh.
