I've tried it. Doesn't work for me.

Sub-4.0 0-60 mph on the drag strip equates to 60' time of 1.85 seconds or lower and 330' of 5.2 or lower.

Some of you Z06 guys want me to give you a driving lesson? :p:

Also, make sure it is setting a 0.00...........MUST be absolutely level.........
Turn it on, and move switch to far left position........ACCEl, GFORCE will alternately flash.......PRESS ACCEL, and hold for a second.........then SWITCH the sitch to the center position.......
Press the switch, it will set it self to a FLASHING "GO", mode.......
You can roll forward or rearwards, and it will not start......but, as soon as you HIT the throttle it will start..............if you DO NOT let off the gas, once past 60mph, it will record 1/4 mile time automatically............time for each will flash, (as you have used it)......either 0-60, or 1/4 mile.............
Oops...Gary corrected me. Count me as one of the misinformed. I've only ridden in friends' cars who have G-techs. I do not use one myself.
I'm not sold on the accuracy of the G-tech. I know I'll get flamed for saying that, but there is a reason true accelerometers are expensive. The G-tech is a decent tool, but far from optimum. If its not perfectly level, times get thrown way off. Trap speeds are consistently 3-5mph higher than reality.
Z06LS6, since we live pretty close, you're welcome to borrow my Vericom 2000. It puts the G-tech to shame.

I must’ve run G-Tech ~20 times at the strip and it’s always ~.1 slower than the ET from the slip (most likely due to some car squat during hard acceleration). Trap speed is higher by 3-4MPH, because it is the actuall trap speed (drag strip averages last 60’ before & after the finish line)
Point is, it’s extremely accurate and consistent too! :yesnod:
Of course you have to make sure it’s level, but I don’t see what the problem with that…
The G-Tech, will do a LOT better......IF, the 3 prong rubber bumpers are firmly against the windshield...........
This will not be possible w/out adding length to them.
If it is very ridgid, it does amazingly well, for a $140.00 tool......
Especially, for guy's that don't have access to a track within a 100 miles or more.........
Wes, thanks for the offer....i saw another BLK/BLK Z today around Allen, and also, have seen a TR/Blk.......but no Silver yet........... :seeya

Not a cheap accelerometer, but the best out there. If you guys are able to get times that are right in line with the strip from your G-Tech Pro, then go with it. More than anything, being consistent on the road you choose to test on as well as proper calibration procedure on the unit itself will make it as accurate as it can possibly be.
The Vericom has a lot more features which some may not feel are necessary, but its "cool" stuff nonetheless. I have an older VC 2000. They have a newer model out now.
