They covered the repairs. While it's all apart, I am going to upgrade to a ls7 clutch setup. Might as well spend the money I just saved on the repair and while its labor free for me as well.

Great news Dave! I knew Kevin would take care of you.
Tank said you might be coming by tomorrow while we detail his Vette.
i sure am. I can bring my porter cable over too and just get that car in and out.
Found out that Kevin isnt the one working on the car. Their trans guy is I guess. But Kevin was checking on it when he would get the chance to. Only downside right now is that it probably wont be ready till monday
Glad everything is working out for you. If you don't mind, how much was the new LS7 clutch?
Thanks, Im glad too. Not sure yet on a final price, I'm waiting for the writer to call me back, but from gene cully its $470 shipped for the ls7 clutch kit.
So is it true that you need to remove the bell housing the get the c6z06 clutch in? and I'm also hearing that a fuel filter needed to be removed to take the bell housing out?
Got my car back from libertyville. They did a great job and I only had one worry when I was picking it up. The clutch just felt weird, seemed to engage/disengage near the floor. Was told that this was normal for that clutch. I took his word for it and I'm starting to get used to it. Feels great so far and I'm learning how to shift all over again, haha
Now bring that bitch by on Saturday. We are detailing Jimmy O's Vette at my place.
Can't we'll be working on c6franks stereo then. Starting to get some of the fab work done. We need tanks car too. gotta talk to him. Wish I could make it by. Sunday would be better for me on the detailing part. Let me know if you guys wanna borrow my porter cable
oh and to keep this on topic, dbirdz, thanks. After I get some miles on this clutch I'll report back on whether I like it or not. so far so good.

C6 Frank said he might dump his car off on you guys and come hang out over here. If you are doing minor things to C6 Frank's and FrankTank's cars, you might as well do it over here.

Glad you're back on the road, DPG.
Regarding the LS7 clutch engagement point, I've driven four different cars with the LS7 clutch, including my own. None engage near the floor. You might try the fluid change protocol with aggressive pedal pumps in between. That will often free trapped air in the hydraulics, should that be the issue. If so, the engagement point may settle a bit upward.
Thanks Ranger, After putting some more miles on, it just gets better and better. The pedal is starting to feel normal to me. Also, yesterday did the clutch fluid change it's been standard practice for me since last year. Clear fluid again. Its just getting used to the better clamping force
