Gauge Bezel Installation - Beware

The problem is this. The TACH BEZEL WAS THE WRONG SHAPE. As a result glue got on my fingers when I was positioning it and was spread to a few places in the cluster without me realizing it. I did a trial fit but didn't notice how out of shape the bezel was.
Before gluing the speedo bezel I did a much better tiral fit and it too was WAY OUT OF SHAPE. I was able to stretch it to the right shape, but if I hadn't done this, it to would have been bad.
I got these bezels at the VetteShop, one of out sponsors, and needless to say, I am more than unhappy with the quality of the pieces. I will take the blame for the installation screw up as I should have noticed that the tach bezel was bad, but I will not recommend the VetteShop in the future.
On the bright side, the B&M shifter installation went smooth and now the car shifts as it should.

that's why this step was included in the LAPD installation guide:
"4g. Trial fit each piece one at a time. Get a feel for how each fits; reshape as needed"
The rings that have gaps were all originally machined from tubing stock, and start out the correct diameter. But at the end of the process where the gap section is removed, the rings relax somewhat and may either slightly close in or spread apart.
