wHAT'S THE DIFFERENT
What is the different in the exhaust system on a 98 - 00 Vette and a 01 - 04 Vette. I mean way want the headers for a 98- 00 Vette fit on a 01- 04. I read that the cats were push back two inches on 00 and 01's. Could the the headers for 00 be mod to fit a 02? And if so want has to be done.

The emissions systems of the early and late cars are different. It would seem that later model headers could be modded to fit the earlier years, but it would be a real pain to make earlier headers fit the later years - easier to cut off tubing than to weld it on. And if you are installing headers, the rest of the system shouldn't make much difference - you'll be cutting it up anyway to fit onto a collector. There are quite a few differences between years on the factory H-pipe/cats, from the addition of pre-cats to the angle at which they attach to the stock manifolds to the mounting points up front. The rears of these pipes are all the same - it's the fronts that are different. But again, if you are installing headers, the parts you are questioning will be cut off. The cats are in the same position on all the pipes; it's what goes on between the cats and the stock factory manifolds that is different. Here's a quick example of the differences between the '99 and '00 H-pipes - '99 on top.
