A friend of mines son (6) found in a parking lot and asked me if I new what is was, I told him that the people on the corvette forum where some of the smartest people. If they didn't know what it was nobody would know.

looks like a backing plate for a side reflector or bikes reflector. the plastic reflector piece has broken off. the hole is where the screw would have went thru. just a guess, but i think thats what it most likely is. its not somthing i have ever seen on a C5. demenshions would be helpfull. or a better pic with it next to a quarter to see its size.
update***i know where i have seen something like that. its a trailors tail light mount. i had to replace my waverunners trailer lights because i backed into so rocks and that was in the round waterproof plastic lights that go on boat trailors. they are made of plastic all around and the inside of them have a metal bracket/spacer so as the bolt does not rip thru the plastic housing.
so did i win a prize??????

I agree on the reflector backing plate. Some poor guy is probably laid out on the highway after being ran over cause his reflector plate was stolen.
On the other hand it does kind of look like a chick magnet. How much you want for it?

I am sure it is the critical part to the FLUX CAPACITOR and if you lay it back exactly where you found it, it will disappear immediately into the future where he dropped it. Hurry, as he is trying to get back!!!!!!!!
