Default What mode do you drive in?

When you're out in your car either driving to and from work or just out for a cruise what mode do you drive in? I find the very first thing I do virtually everytime is to put the car into Competition Driving Mode. I very seldom drive in any other mode.

What mode do you use and why?

Normal mode since there is no use to drive in comp especially with all the traffic that we have here in Vancouver BC

Hmm, why? My understanding is that only allows you to spin the tires unabated. Mine stays in default mode except at the track or auto-crossing. Reason=I don't race on the street.

I found that competitive mode was great for getting stickers off of my new tires.

I really don't think about it. I don't race the car on the street or anywhere else so I just leave the settings as they are when the car is started.

Since I don't have A/H or Select Ride, I usually drive around in the "permagrin" mode.

Seriously though, I just got the car last tuesday and haven't had it over 80 mph, usually do 1st-4th without being forced to by CAGS and I drove 55 mph the whole way down and home from Ocean City MD this past weekend. I'm no fun I guess :o

Well, I was going to say competition mode all the time but I may have made an assumption too soon. I thought once you changed the mode it stayed that way until you changed it again. Is that true or does it always change back to normal when you turn off/restart the car?

BTW, I was in Competition mode (or thought I was) so I felt like I was a bad azz. I rarely ever spin the tires and usually by surprise. I too am getting too old

My understanding is that the car defaults back to normal mode each time you turn it off. You have to switch the car into Competition Mode unless you have pruchased and installed a device that can adjust your defaults.

I do the same as yourself. I do not want the engine to downpower if the tires HAPPEN to breaK loose.

I read a post recently that indicated that there are three modes:

1) Normal
2) Press once and your are in some mode or another
3) Press and hold and the car wille be in competition mode

If so, what is the difference between 2 & 3? In competition mode doesn't AH stay engaged but TC is off meaning you can spin the tires?
