Default Oil types?

Hello all,
I just picked up my "new" 98 convertible and I see that the previous owner was using non-synthetic oil. It has over 100K on the odometer. Should I switch back to using the recommended synthetic oil? Thanks.

I would also. The previous owner used Dino just to save a couple bucks?

The difference in cost between a oil change with synthetic vs. dino isn't significant enough that I started using it in all my cars.

Any oil is better than no oil, but fully synthetic meeting GM4718M is the spec. IF you want to keep her running happily for a while use the right oil...
There are several that meet this spec including Penzzoil Platinum which you can often pick up on sale for about $3/qt.
