I was driving in my monte carlo today to school (I'm 21) and I get into the left hand turn lane and then all of a suddon I hear, "Thanks A$$hole!" to my right. So I look over and here is a guy in a red rag-top C4 screaming obscenities at me. I figure whatever and just go about my business. This guy pulls behind me and starts tailgating me for 3 miles until I get to school all the while I can hear him yelling at me stuff like, "I'm gonna ruin your day #$%@" and stuff like that.
Now, I own a 2002 red Z06 and I would never be caught driving or behaving in such a manner. I would never want to risk my car tailgating someone or take my anger out like that. Its pretty upsetting to see someone who I would have waved to any other day act like he's the king of the road. I live in a small college town (Fort Collins, CO) and there is just no need for this kind of behavior.
I kept my cool and didn't even acknowldege him, but its just sad to see a fellow vette owner act with such little regard for the safety of others.
C4 owners are just mad they dont have LSx's and the ability to easily get into their car or lower their targa top w/out the assistance of 3-4 people
I kid I kiiiid.
Some people are just major road ragers, I don't drive all that fast in mine, I had a T/A to beat up on, this car stays in the slow lane, I get tailgated all the time, but you did the right thing, everyone has their off days, even our fellow Corvette owners
Note: no offense to C4 owners I'm just being sarcastic
PS: love your avatar, thats pretty good!

Is it possible the left turn lane was a go straight or turn left lane and you pulled in front of him and braked...?
Is it also possible he was not planning to turn and had to hit the brakes hard to prevent his C4 from being in your back seat...?
other wise I can't imagine why he would be so upset...
BUT even if all that were true, there is still no excuse for his behavior.
I am sure he wasn't yelling at you for no reason. More then likely you cut him off making your lane change, maybe spilling his hot coffeee all over himself, who knows? Then when you didn't acknowledge your mistake he got even more pissed off and that my friend is how road rage escalates...
Consider yourself lucky! What you experienced was the perfect driver - never makes mistakes, is the role model for kids with permits, and so on!
You lucky dog - a rare sighting indeed!
Oh, by the way, did the driver have any teeth?
There was just one left turn lane, he was in the lane that is supposed to go straight without his blinker on to get left (even though you're not supposed to cross the solid white line). There was one car in front of me before I got to the light and he was a few cars back in the other lane.
I can understand getting upset if he was already trying to get over and I cut him off, but his car was still straight forward in the other lane and no blinker in sight.
I was suprised, the guy looked to be in his early thirties. I thought people grew out of that stuff.
I'll just keep on chuggin along and hope to see some of the nicer vette owners around

I was kinda wondering what I should do. What police number should I use for reporting dicks like that? I might take a trip down to the local PD and see what they want people to do in situations like that.
