Yep, a big one, too. My 04 has a gas tank leak that tech said is a crack in the top of the tank. A search here shows this is not a strange occurence. They have to take out the transmission, etc to get to it. Won't have it ready for 4 days. Thank God for the extended warranty I bought as my first mod !

Taking tomorrow(tues) to take out tranny, etc and to order part. Part arrives (wed), then 5-6 hours install. Betting on thursday afternoon. What sucks is my new exhaust(pace car) came in today.

Take the exhaust to them and have them put it on as the stock exhaust was lowered to remove the tranny and gas tank
Just stopped by dealership to check on everything and they are going to put my exhaust on for free since they have the old exhaust off anyway. I am not a dummy, I know they will get the extra labor charge from the warranty providers anyway, but it was a nice gesture. I just wish they would hurry up. I miss it already.
I have EasyCare that my chevy dealer actually recommended over GMPP. Same benefits but much cheaper. From what I understand it is actually owned or run by Ford !

I inquired on the EasyCare mentioned above. Went on the web filled in all the information they required and then a screen comes up a says we will call you with a quote. So far so good. Then my phone rings, it was a salesperson giving me all the information what it cover and how it covers it. Around 15 minutes later she says to me hold on I have you quote and puts me on hold. I Then get this other gentleman that is going to give me the quote, now it's for a 6 year up to 100K miles all for $3,529. But I had to enroll in it right then and there and if I didn't he would decline my application.
I'm sorry first off I don't do anything this big unless I speak with my wife about it. Second I hate to be pressured in a sale, if I can't come back and get the same price I don't want it.
Actually Warranty Direct was around $2,100 less then Easy Care. Warranty Direct was for 5 yrs and 100K miles 0 deductible for $1,465. And after I filled out the online info they needed they just sent me an email with all of the breakdowns of coverage.
Luckily didnt have to deal with sales BS. I run a business that sales plays a big role in, but my staff will never become used car salesmen. Dont want to offend b/c I am sure all car guys arent like that, but there are plenty that are.
Congratulations on getting your vette fixed for free (well almost)
I made the mistake of buying a '97 vette WITHOUT a warranty and definitely lived to regret it. After all the Steering Column Lock problems then the Warped Heads, it just got to a point where I couldn't justify the expense, so I had to cut my losses and part-ex it to the dealer.
I have just purchased an '04 CE vert with a GMPP with a 0 deductable until 2011 so that's another 4 years of "worry free" motoring
I would recommend anyone thinking of purchasing a warranty do so!

Someday when I have my "own" lift I'll be able to do these things as well. I do know my way around a garage. Especally to were the beer is kept cold....
Just a heads up for some of you guys buying extended/aftermarket warranties. Be sure to check when your warranty ends. Don't assume its 3 (or however many) years from when you purchase it. For some aftermarket companies, the 3 years starts JAN 1. So if you buy your car in say July, your 3 year warranty is actually a 2.5 year.

Look them up on the web. That's what I did. Filled out some question on the car and they were on the phone calling me. Get ready for the sales pitch around 15 minutes or so.... I just wanted to know how much it would be for my wife's vette, 99 coupe.
Also look at direct warranty. They are less expensive then easy care.

Can I buy a used vette (97- 02) from a private seller not a dealer and get a warranty from Warrany Direct? Or any other warranty company. Thanks
Good thing for that warrenty, if that was me and I had no warrenty that would be an excuse for me to get hardened output shafts, DTE brace, clutch, tunnel plate, the list goes on since you would have to remove the tranny and all
