Don't usually run in "comp mode", but turned it on, or turned traction control off as it may be this morning. Ended up downshifting into 1st around 23mph while changing lanes to get off the freeway and almost lost the rearend when I shifted to 2nd. Was very glad that the active handling was still on! It's all thanks to this forum that I even knew about comp mode after 2 years of driving it still surprises me how easy that rear end gets loose:o

Oh yeah, after you see comp mode on the DIC, press reset, and you can still see all the other functions and still remain in comp mode.

If so, I'll give it a try tomorrow on my way to work! Thanks
All you have to do is put it in Comp Mode, hit reset, then floor it and see if your tires light up or not.

Trust me, the TC is off. No "bogs" on shifts, tires will boil.

I don't know about YOUR car, but I have a 2000 and using Competition Driving mode at the track (road racing, not drag racing or autocrossing), I reset the DIC so I can keep an eye on my oil temp and I'm still in Competitive Driving mode. I'm not out of it until I either turn the car off (which resets back to normal mode) or I stop the car and change it back manually.

That's the way it was in 2000. Your results may differ.

I thought turning on Competition Mode along with a performance hood seal gave you 100 more horsepower...I guess I was wrong

don't make me laugh outloud...

just because the text is removed from the DIC (when pressing the Reset button) doesn't then mean that the mode has been disabled.

we are not guessing on this

Maybe his car can't light up the tires either way so he can't tell...

It could be done but it would be expensive. Best bet would be to find a wrecked vette of the same vintage that had it and get the wiring and controls for AH out of it.

You asked a question and we answered it. You then stated we were incorrect, when in fact you were wrong. So we (I) had a little fun with you, but do note that I added smilies and a .

I would highly recommend that you do not hang out in OT with such a thin skin, they will eat you alive. If you can't poke a little fun at your "brothers" who can you poke fun at?

Seriously if you were that offended by my remarks I apologize....
