I have not had problems with resurfaced rotors before. And frankly, I don't think my problem is the rotors. I think it was that I did not grease the slides in the calipers, which had dried out due to the car sitting for extended periods of time. The previous owner only put 6,000 miles on the car in close to three years.
I would say when the rotors were turned the cutting tool was withdrawn too quickly hence cutting fine "threads" in the rotors causing the pads to ride up and then slam down creating the noise, it only takes a small amount to do this not really noticeable by eye, also after turning did they sand the rotor and put the crosshatching lines in the surface? Just a thought, glad all is well now.
