plastic vs bronze headlamp gears
I've gone through 2 plastic gears on the drivers side headlamp in a year. Is there something I am missing? like a motor stop adjustment or something? Or do I get a bronze/brass replacement to cure this small but time consuming problem ? Thanks in advance 00 C/5

You must not turn your headlights on very much.....did you buy your car new? Maybe you already have the brass gears and you didn't know it.

Maybe you don't drive much at night? Don't know. My '97 has 46,000 and as far as I know it has the original nylon gear. If you read the article on the link above, it explains why the gear fails.

Not that it matters, but are the brass gears noisier?

I have a brand new set of brass ones I bought from MID-AMERICA I will never be using because I just bought a set of SW C5R headlights w/ HIDS.
I am willing to part for a fair price.
