[Z06] Maroon Z06
I came across this one today. When my Dad bought a Z a few years ago, he said that he wanted it in this color, I guess this is his chance.
Just thought I'd bring this up to stimulate a little debate about whether everyone likes this or not.

Another thing, is it me or does that car look high? Look at the gap between the top of the tires and the fender opening.

...has anyone ever seen a Z painted that dark grey color? I think that would be awesome.

The CarFax report didn't look good but I called anyway. The car salesman told me that not only had it been painted a maroon color but that the quality of the paint was very poor. It was even lifting in some places. He made no excuses for it and seemed willing to accurately describe the cosmetic condition of the car.
He sent a few pictures and the sure enough the paint was just as bad as he described, the interior was FILTHY, the tires were spent, etc.
Based on those pictures, the car looked like it had been abused for 217,000 miles not jsut 17,000. The pictures he sent must have been pre-detail photos. The lowest offer they would accept at the time as $25,500.
Even IF the car is a mechanical 10 of 10, (seems unlikely), it would cost an additional $5000 to $8000 to have the car stripped and repainted.
Based on the photos shown in the eBay ad it looks like they have put some effort into making the car look better. Perhaps they had it touched up, color sanded, and buffed to remove some of the paint flaws. The interior certainly looks cleaner but I can still see evidence that the carpet was/is nasty. The passenger seat even appears to have more wrinkles than whats typical for the rarely used passenger side of these cars.
I have a feeling that this car ran away from home and became a **** star at an early age.
