Was at a cruise in today. There were probably 300 cars there. I had my 01 C5 parked beside my friends 03 Anniversary Edition and hardly anyone stopped to take a look at either car. They were more interested in the Mustangs and GTOs (Older Models) from 60s.
Just didn't seem like anyone was interested in looking at the vettes.
Wouldn't loose sleep over it, some folks have different tastes and it could have been one of those days that people were more into the classic rides over the newer models.
A nicely reconditioned muscle car from the 60s is a sight you dont see everyday, and i for one enjoy looking at them, well because im old and grew up in that era. Brings back memories! Just like a C1 or a midyear will get more attention than a C5. C5's are great but theres alot out there.
Lets just keep this a little secret among CF, how wonderful a car C5 really is. First of all we got the new cars that are competitive with C5's You know what I mean GTO's, STIs and all that stuff. The new cars they should be comparing with the new LS3 but would rather pick on us and say Yahooo! I can beat a Vette even though it was designed10 years ago Then you look at classics at even Dante Culpeppers's pathetic piece of crap (75 Caprice ) could have more attention. Sorry to rag on the car classic car lovers but I kinda like Chevelles and Cudas just a little more than a Caprice. Alright you caught me the bum snookered the Fish out of millions and that's why I hate his car Anywho, these GTO's and Rustangs have stood the test of time and deserve some respect. I hope I don't get banned from saying so but the Old A/C Cobra is on my list of Cars I NEED just don't have the money for right now and most likely never. Would be glad for an old 454 or ZR1 Vette as a second Vette .Along with many old Corvettes. Now if they are ignoring old Corvettes lets get down there and kick somebody's ****

In April when I showed my car at a Hot Rodders show, 85% old school hot rods mine got People's Choice and I was real happy about that as there were so many great looking Street Rods there that look as good or better in most cases that my C5
I am like Factory Racecar I like old hot rods, though I am a geezer compared to him
I received alot of attention when I had my 68 vert, but came to the conclusion that the attention was the only reason why I kept the car. Handling was weak, gas mileage was dismal, and the ride was kidneypunishing, even with Bilsteins and glass leaf springs. Daily driver? ....not very enjoyable. Once a month drive-the-scenic rout-with-the-top-down car? Absolutely.
Which car would I rather drive? No contest - the C5 is superior in every way for driver satisfaction. So while I like to look at older muscle cars and Corvettes, I would not want to drive one regularly.
Heck, a mint condition International truck would get lots of attention, but those of you who have ever driven one know just how awful (punishing) one actually is.
