DO NOT HAVE THE RECALL DONE!!! GET A COLUMN LOCK BYPASS(CLB)!!!
Do a search for column lock recall or column lock bypass, and you'll see why you need it. I just added one to my car, which had the recall done years ago.
Seriously. Column Lock is a very well known issue with these cars. It has been well established that the recalls are a hack at best. Get a column lock block (CLB) from a supporting vendor.

Know these (3) letters.....CLB. Order it from Corvettes of Houston. It only takes about 30 minutes to install, but you will be worry free. You will regret it if you take it to the dealer.
From: Corona CA, sometimes Austin TX or Las Vegas NV

I did mine last week. I got my bypass from Thunder racing. You'll see posts on the "C5 Tech" side of this forum.
I think there should be a sticky at the top just for column lock.
All the info in one place and the first thing people see when they
enter this forum. This problem is something everyone needs to know
about and adress to prevent the steering wheel to lock up at the wrong place at the wrong time and in my opinion, to prevent them from having to
have them flatbedded to the dealer. And haveng even more problem after that.
