Well for some reason I cant post the link :

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1714738

but I think that was the post that I bookmarked about a different type of jack (goes under or around wheel) that was zero low profile and needs no room next to vehicle.

I was looking at it because my garage is too narrow to even open the doors properly let alone use a jack from the sides.

But, Im having the driveway blacktopped next week
(no more $100 oil changes....weeeeee...)

Chuck
I just followed your thread - I have a Craftsman 4,000 lb jack that looks identical to this one, except it is red and cost twice as much!

Default JACK for the c5

HI there c5Aggie03,
You probably bought a jack already.Anyway here goes.
I just bought this low profile "black jack" 3ton made by torin at walmart.Min height 3.3" to 17.72" professional quailty very heavy. Cost 68.62. This jack will fit under the jacking pucks with lots of clearance to spare. You can jack the car with out using car ramps. My regular 3ton floor will not fit under any jacking puck without using a 2x10 under the wheel. I have a completely stock 01 vette coupe non zo6 not lowered at all.My lowest side of the car measures 4 3/8" from the garage floor to the bottom of the jacking puck.I keep a set in the trunk wrapped in a towel just in case of a unexpected trip to the garage.I just used the jack today & manually bled all the brakes as to remove the dirty factory brake fluid. (in from day one).Brakes & the jack work fine.

Would you trust this jack to lift your baby? You get what you pay for. I went that way once but never again. Buy quality - get quality.JMHO
