Good luck with that! In the jewel case, they give you a "Coupon Code" which you have to enter on a registration website just to get the serial number. Then you have to enter the serial number upon installation, yadda, yadda...

Naturally, when I attempted to retrieve my SN, the registration site was down for 2 days.

I have a lot of connections. If I can get a $30k pirated software, I shouldnt have any problems getting one thats only $650.

At home, have 7.0 and 5.5.

At work, the latest version.

Also use Adobe Pagemaker 6.5, Pagemaker 7.0, InDesign 2.0, CS2, and CS3.

They are all very similar. I'd suggest whatever you can get your hands on for free or very cheap.

We've got CS2 here at work, not sure why we don't have CS3 yet since I work for one of Canada's largest magazine publisher!! (my entire day at work consists of image editing and color correction in Photoshop, I've been doing this since 1992 when it was Photoshop version 2.0!)

I just upgraded to CS3 Extended but I haven't really had much time to play/learn. It seems like a great bump forward from CS1.

The rest of CS3 (InDesign especially) is much more user friendly, in my opinion.

To be honest, the way we use Photoshop here, when you see my work you shouldn't know that Photoshop has been used at all, so they just look like regular photos.

Because of the quality of the magazines we publish here, there is a big need for photo retouching that doesn't look like it's been retouched. So we're changing the colors of walls in people's houses, adding or removing furniture/people/objects, smoothing out wrinkles in people's skin, etc. etc. But when the work is done, it shouldn't look photoshopped at all.

We don't use Photoshop here like a lot of people do, such as how a graphic artist might use it to create things from scratch. We're using it to color correct and retouch existing images to improve their quality. With the huge amount of digital photography that happens now, we're having to do a lot more adjusting of the color than we did in the days when photographers shot everything with color transparencies and then we scanned them.
