Default 2004 z16 ?

I will be in the market for a z16 soon. My question is to the original owners,,,, What did you pay for your 2004 z-16 vettes??? Sticker or below? I am new to these cars and just beginning to gauge the market.

You are making a wise choice with the Z16. Of course I may be predjudiced. I bought mine from the original owner so I can't answer your question. Z16 owners have our own website too where you will be able to come and join and register your car there. I'll get out of the way now so original owners can chime in.

Good choice!
I will admit I am biased.
I bought mine new 9-11-04 and paid msrp and never looked back!

I purchased mine used as well. I have spoken with some original owners and gotten mixed answers. It seems to me that cars that sold early in the model year sold for right at MSRP but any that didnt move until near the end of 2004 run were discounted. I believe some were even sold using a 0% interest deal that came out near the end of the 2004 model year.

I purchased my Z16 from the original owner who paid less than msrp for it. That fact, however, did not come into play when he and I negotiated my purchase price.
I knew what the "market values" were and based on mileage and condition came with an equitable price.
Good luck with your search/purchase. I love my Z16 and do not plan to part with it; I may acquire another Corvette but I plan to keep the
Z16 as it is truely a "keeper".

I bought mine from the original owner. I saw his receipts. He paid just over $58,000 with tax, registration, and GMPP extended warranty.
I bought the car from him (#1961) in June 2006. It had only 3,800 miles on it and I got everything he had for it. I paid significantly less than he did, but at a fair market price including the extended warranty. He took a significant hit for the short time he had it.
Depending on mileage, condition, included extras...the prices range from $35-42,000 asking price...actual selling price may vary. Check NADA and KELLY BLUE BOOK for some ideas.
They're unique cars!

I got mine used 12/06, seller paid list. IMHO whether the seller got a discount (or not) when he bought new makes zero difference to the current price/value on the car.

Say he won it in a raffle for $100. Would he then take less than going market value?

Or if he overpaid list to be the first guy on the block. Is his car worth more now?

Either way it's a fantastic car, I love mine, drive it every day.

I have driven the c6 z and, not to knock them, but I like the c5 better. But on a track the c6z'll eat my lunch for sure.

I bought mine new in March 2004. The purchase price was $59K and I got that price in the Wash DC area only because I was personnel friends with the sales Mgr (he had been offered more) and because (I suspect) that I had purchased two other new vehicles from his dealership. It is really a great car and minor mods make it even a better performer.

Default Z16

I found mine new in March of 2005, the dealer had it in stock for a year! I paid $42,200.

You will find the right one, go for it.

I buy mileage. I always buy cars with extremely low miles, and sometimes I pay through the nose. I like buying from private owners because I can get answers to 14,000 questions. Also, if someone is lying about a small item, then I walk because I do not trust them.

If I go to a dealer, I will also typically pay thru the nose.

If you locate a vehicle with GMPP, that is fantastic because GMPP get more expensive when you jump from 23999 miles to 24k. Almost doubles. Several supporting venders here who give a neat discount on GMPP. Keep in mind that if you buy a car that is still eligble for GMPP, it must have 3 more months and 3,000 miles to go prior to expiration of older GMPP. If you are buying car and then adding a new GMPP policy (only if car is within 50,000 miles), you don't need to worry about 3 months and 3k miles.

I am a tad confused,, i am going to look at a car tomorrow. Unfortunately at a dealer. The car has only 2,800 miles. Where does this put me at with the gmpp warranty? I guess i am gonna carfax, check for wheel road rash, excessive seat wear, undercarriage cleanliness, z16 documentation, paint/rock chips on front end, paint swirls/ micro scratches. The dealer is asking a "reduced" price of 39,800. I just don't know how much the low mileage is worth vs another car with 10-15k that has been possibly taken care of much better. If the car would check out okay how much do you think i could haggle off the "reduced" price of $39,800 ??? Any other things i should be looking for on these cars???

Hey Bob I live in Fredericksburg and work in Manassas some. I dont often drive my car to work in Manassas but I have passed a Z16 up there a couple times on 619 in Independent Hill. Could that be you that I keep seeing?

I bought my Z16 in July 04 and paid under MSRP, I just purchased a GMPP for my Z. I've enjoyed this car over any I've ever owned. I've thought about a C6 but just couldn't seem to pull the trigger on the deal. I now know for sure I wouldn't want to get rid of my baby.
