If you have it handy......could someone please send me or post the exact location of the outside temp sensor? The GM part number would be fantabulous as well...............thanks!
I know they are not expensive and I know they are located up front behind the bumper....somewhere
easy replacement...$10 at local chevy house...5 minutes to pop old one out and put the new one back in....just had to be a bit of a contortionist (glad i have long arms) to reach down and get it....
10 bucks?? Man I have been putting off changing it for too long! Now with the sensor reading between 15-25 degrees the A/C won't come on when its 90 outside

Dear 65 ggvert.........I DID try the search feature, but nothing came up that was as clear and helpful as these guys...........THANKS!!! what you folks posted was great --- perfect.....and there is one post above that was helped by this as much as me.....
Patience folks for repeat posts...they usually have a reason to bring the subject back to the top of the page..........now let's start a "which wax is best" thread just to see if ggvert goes ballistic (kidding!)

Wait. I thought the outside temp sensor wasn't linked to A/C function. There's an inside temp sensor for that. Is there someting I'm missing? An override or something based on outside temp?

You must not have searched properly. That picture with the sensor with the writing and arrows was one I personally did and have posted it at least half a dozen times. In my posts I also told you how to take it out from the top in about 2 minutes. Doesn't matter now, you have it.
As far as I'm concerned you can start posts about runflats, nonrunflats, A4 or MN6, vert or coupe, Z06 or coupe, wax, oil, running nitrogen in your tires, I ignore those anyway. But I do try to post pictures from the service manual and find part numbers for members who ask for help. I also have a picture of a backup light switch I've posted several times if you would like that. I get a little frustrated when someone asks a question that already has a full answer posted with pictures on the same page of the forum that they're asking on. I don't know if it's laziness, not knowing how to search, or just wanting to get into the action, but I'll still help if I can.

We're all learning, in here. Whether it's how to change oil, wax our cars, install a supercharger, or how to be an expert. I didn't even know about the search function for the first several months that I was a member. I applaud people's curiosity, and also applaud the patience of the many members that repost, re-answer, and regard questions as challenges and opportunities to offer assistance. I think Pewter Dream got the message, and is appreciative of the help he got.
I have my own question....should I use Z5, Z2, CS, and Z8.... or Adams?

I am curious too. It didn't actually start affecting the A/C until it got below 20 degrees. Last night it was reading 11 and the (blower) fans work fine but the A/C button to kick on the compressor will just flash at me a few times and never come on.
