My wife just handed me a little book she got at Costco. It's called "Corvette, The Shape of Performance," and it's got a red C2 on the cover with the top of the book cut-out in the shape of the upper part of the car.
Now, as a vette owner, we somehow attract people always giving us corvette stuff--at least I do....I have gotten one of those huge Corvette books, 2 calendars, and a key chain. Easy father's day presents, I guess. But this is a wonderful little book for ony $7.50. It has a 2-page spread on every year, pricing, horsepower, most popular color, photo of the badge, a write up about design and variations, and 4-5 pictures of the car from various angles, sometimes the engine bay. It talks about the design motivations like low-octane fuel, when spoilers were added, and shows some early design models. And, it's got a back section on some of the race versions. That blue 1957 SS....what an awesome car! AND it has a section on every Corvette pace car ever used at Indy, with photos and similar information. I highly recommend this little book!
I just learned that my 1961 Corvette is in this book "Corvette: The Shape of Performance". I have one of the books on order. Would anyone happen to be able to take a quick advance snapshot of the Jewel Blue 1961 Corvette which appears in the book and post it here or send the photo to me?
