The dumbest thing about all of the haters is that they think C5s are so expensive.
There are a ton of 00+ coupes and even 04 Z06s in the $20-30K range. A freakin' loaded new Civic will cost you $20K, so why not get a Vette. I don't have any kids(that I know of
) so I don't need a backseat. And I can fit 4 wheels and tires in my car, and can get around 30mpg on a highway cruise. Sounds like a practical car to me

The funny thing to me is that nobody says that crap to people driving big fat BMWs and M-Bs that cost more and use more gas. So it's not a matter of money; they're just jealous because they know they could have one, too, but somebody wouldn't let them, or they just didn't.

I got that often for the 2 1/2 weeks I was able to drive mine. I had a guy say that... and I told him 'How? I'm 24' and he kinda shut up.
People suck. End of story.
And I was serious about the pics!!

Living in a large metro area, I do get some of the envious comments now an then.
The other day a guy at the gas station made the comment 'Nice car, must have cost a fortune' and followed with 'bet it doesn't get very good mileage' .. I shined the light on him ..so to speak
He was drivin a new Civic .. I asked him what he paid for it, he beamed a smile at me and said he got a really good deal, only cost him 23k with the 'wheels' an such.
I gave him 'the look' .. told him I'd probably shoot myself in the head before spending that much for so little, I paid 18k for the black beauty .. and as for mileage, 24mpg in town, 30 at 70 on the freeway, and which would *you* rather drive?
His reply was classic ..'18k for a new Vette? ..that's BS!'
'It's 10 years old' I replied .. his look was priceless
You could see the wheels turning, albeit slowly.. as he realized he could have had a Vette .. instead
