But with no cats it won't pass CA smog right? Thats the only concern of mine.

but seriously i live way out in the country so neighbors aren't an issue. And I can tolerate the noise. I use to have a 66 fastback wkith dual flowmaster 40 series and I would have liked it louder!
On a recent corvette run I attended there were many many loud vettes, all of which i loved the sound of. I just don't have the dough for a beefy engine , but would like a racy sounding exhaust. but i also don't want it to sound "retarded" like someone mentioned above

As far as the Borla's, the XR-1 sounds good, but is not as loud as you would expect it to be.
