Default replacing tire sensor nuts??? is it tricky??

purchased chrome replacement and wondering if it is going to be difficult to replace without losing something into the wheel or air pressure, talked to a few car guys not vette guys and they tell me take it to Firestone and let them do it, I can't find someone who knows how to do it.

Loosen the cap until only a couple of threads hold it on. Unscrew the nut until it just touches the cap and then take a wire tie wrap (like used on a loaf of bread) and tie it around the valvestem between the wheel and the nut. Remove the cap and nut and put on the new nut. Remove the wire tie wrap and then tighten the nut, Replace the cap.
Replace lost air.

No, it's just a nut!! Just don't push or let the valve stem drop into the tire - then you'll be

Great info. Was wondering if there was a way to do this without breaking the tire down.
