Hi guys, I just had to post this because I was so excited my project came out really nice. 9 bucks for black carpet, a can of spray adhesive and 1/2 inch particle board.
Measure area and start cutting cardboard to fit the compound angles around the shock towers. After you get a template trace it on the particle board. Get a piece of board at least 53 X 14 inches. Spray the adhesive (I used DAP) and stick the carpet on both sides. One side will have to creep over the edge to hide the edge of the board. Thats it, install the board and use some L brackets to secure it, I slipped the brackets under the carpet to hide them. I installed the SLP system and the internal resonance was incredible! I love loud cars but this was ridiculous. After the board, AWSOME! The internal sound level is very acceptable and the outside sounds wicked. Good luck with this install.

I ordered the Ecklers one for $39. All it was is some very dense foam. I sent it back. Not before using it has a pattern for my own foam partition. I still need to carpet it.
I'll try and take some pics, I don't know how to post them though, I will email them to anyone who wants them. The brackets are hidden under the carpet but I'll point out where they are. For 99 bucks I might had bought one, the 39 dollar one I've heard is a piece of junk. I figured it took about 4 hours from start to finish including cleanup, so 99 dollars sounds pretty good.

hey GMblack,
I'd love to borrow your pattern when your done with it, if you don't mind. Maybe I can draw it up in Autocad and give it print up a bunch for whoever is interested.

I do have a pattern that I made out of cardboard. What would be the best way to make one (out of paper?) and send it to you? Email me direct at gmblack3@hotmail.com
I made a pattern out of cardboard, then used 2 inch styrofoam, covered it with black carpeting, it looks like factory, weighs about 1 pound, and does it ever seal off the road noise on the highway!! :)
Did you use the foil backed insulation for the partition. That would probably give it some strength. I'm also interested in some pictures, and patterns.
