I hope the road to recovery for your Vette is a quick one. It always amazes me how close people follow me when I'm in my Vette. It always bothers me for just this reason.

Sorry to hear that. Glad everyone was ok. We have lots of deer here and I have never hit one but have had close calls many times. Count your blessings that you did not hit it because someone would have been hurt or even killed. With as low as the car is the deer would have come right thru your windshield. I know 3 people who had that happen. one died and the other is in a coma.

At least no one was hurt - not even the deer. The car can be fixed and it might even be better than it was before the incident. Sorry for your troubles, and best of luck with the repairs.

Default Deer Me!!

I feel for you. It can be fixed good as new, believe me I know. Happened back in '77. In California coming down the mountain heading towards Tahoe. I was so glad, I missed the first one then accelerated and hit the second one. Its horns embeded in the hood and was still alive and kicking. It wasn't hurt real bad but what a time getting him out of the hood.

Corvette Don, question:
Did you have anytime to turn your lights off quickly??? I know this sounds a little silly but I was able to do that once... A deer turned to look at me and I quickly shut of my lights and he ran off... As soon as I turned them off, he turned... instant. I don't know if it was luck or what but it worked that time... I hit the brakes too of course...

I didnt even have eneough time to react to do that, all I could think about is stoppping (I was not about to swerve out of the way), I did not even know the mustang was that close to me but yes our cars do stop very fast, if he had not went around me you would have plowed into the back of me and very eaisly totaled my car, his car is totaled and I feel bad that it happend cause he did take care of his car very well but he was just glad him and his girlfriend were ok after spinning into a wet ditch and not flipping, he did abmit he was speeding a bit, the speed limit on the road was 55, his buddy's nissian only had some cosmetic damage that did not look to bad, neither had full coverage but sad theing is that I think it may come back to the guy in the mustang as being his fault, wont know till we get the report thurs or fri of this week.

Some insurance companies will pay the difference. You will just have to check and see what your policy will cover. I got my TS front from 21st century muscle cars
