What DVD Receiver has the best screen resolution and color? Any that you can change the background graphics on? I would also like navigation (can be included or an add-on feature). I don't want to buy one and find out I made a mistake later. The screen resolution and color is the most important to me. Thanks for any help.
I would go Kenwood. The nav is Garmin based and you will love it.
I have a double din Kenwood with the nav and would highly suggest the products to anyone
We have a Pioneer AVIC-N3.
Install: neutral (PitA), but it all worked.
Sound: plus-plus
Pop Up screen: blocks AC vent: minus
DVD: plus, except it won't play some movies because of format compatibility. Otherwise, if you are on a long trip, your passenger has a movie to watch
NAV software: minus minus minus. Out of date and no way to update (DVD-based). Has potential, if there was an update feature.
Unless you are dying to have your passenger watch a movie, I would say my decision to go with the AVIC-N3 was not one of my better thought out decisions. We have a Garmin NUVI 660 and I like the user interface better with it. I was replacing an aftermarket radio in a 2000 conv we just bought. I wish I had scoured the 'vette shows for a factory unit, and spent the rest on a second NUVI.
Have you looked at the Eclipse AVN-7000. It is hard drive based navigation that is upgradeable. It has gotten very good reviews. I just ordered one for my 03. Just my .02
The KVT-719DVD also has a USB port (1 vs. 2). I'm not sure I like the shiny finish of the 819. My main concern is screen resolution, color, brightness. Can you upload a new background image (Corvette logo) in either of these?
I own the Eclipse AVN7000 and it is truly a quality piece. It is an all in one unit ( no remotely mounted brain box ) hard drive navi and it is a piece of cake to install and easy as heck to use.

That's cool! I didn't know it's nav is Garmin based. I love my Garmin NUVI...

Can you post pics of your install and are you using the iPC-106 iPod interface (if so, how do you like it)
