I am usually on here & with high speed, this new server is slow......very slow. I thought it might be just excess volume but this is beyond hit counts. I feel like I have dial up again......sorry guys

Some of us that live in the boonies don't have access to cable or DSL. Neither are available to me. I have satellite internet, not as fast as DSL or cable, but much faster than dial up. Servers seem a little faster....maybe.

Not sure yet. Maybe admins need to look at re-designing the filing system. e. g. Posts over 6 months or 12 months should go to a total diff section. Make an exact duplicate of sections except that those new sections would contain all posts over a certain age.

I am not a programmer--obviously. We must have programmers out there who can give a quick opinion.

I'm confused. If you have a telephone, you have access to DSL. I have DSL and it uses my existing phone line. Unless you live so far out in the boonies you don't even have a telephone, then I understand.

Not true. I'm in the same situation, the phone companies don't offer DSL everywhere, and if they don't offer it, you ain't gettin' it! Luckily, in my area there's a company that offers high-speed internet service by wireless radio waves bouncing off of towers, so I'm covered, 'cause there's no cable out here either!

Oh gosh darn, you city folk just don't get it I have a phone, but I'm too far from a switching station to get DSL. I guess that you have to be within a certain distance, don't know what that distance is though.

understand that. I do have good cable (RR) but telephone out here sucks. I live at least 5 miles from cell service also. This area is also a radio dead spot for public safety communications. A 20 minuite wait for LE0 or EMS can be common. Mossberg 9 shot is very handy!

You're a little farther out than me...If I stand in the northwest corner of me deck on my tippy toes I can get a little cell service Still no cable though.

I have cable, but fyi, not all phone systems are created equal, some that are using older technology are not dsl compatible.
